Dr Joel Stengel has joined Gastroenterology Consultants in summer 2013. He was born and raised in Hollywood, Florida. Dr Stengel completed his GI fellowship and internal medicine residency at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, TX. He attended college and medical school at the University of Miami and was a medical school classmate of Dr Leon Maratchi. Dr. Stengel joined the U.S. Army in conjunction with his medical education and training. During his years in the military he served as a battalion surgeon during deployments to South Korea and Afghanistan as well as chief of GI Endoscopy. Dr Stengel is experienced to perform general GI procedures as well as ERCP, Capsule Endoscopy, Esophageal Manometry and BRAVO pH Studies. Dr Stengel is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
